Vander - Live At The Valve Bar and Venue
Australian alternative act, Vander will be performing live at Sydney's Valve Bar and Venue on Sunday, 31 August.
After recently supporting Pseudo Echo on the Sydney leg of their current 'Ultraviolet' Australian tour, Vander will be holding his first headline gig of the year with local acts Mirella's Inferno, Silver Statues and The Salty Biscuits.
In the last few years, Vander has enjoyed huge success in the local and international industries. Vander has had his music played on radio stations around the world including Australia, the UK and the US, featured in countless newspapers, magazines, radio shows and blogs, and even performed by large-sized ensembles including the Sydney Youth Orchestra.
He has performed with his band in many legendary Sydney venues, from The Annandale Hotel to Campbelltown Sports Stadium, as part of the pre-show entertainment for the Wests Tigers vs Parramatta Eels NRL game, as well as festivals including The Cruelty Free Festival, as part of the statewide animal rights awareness campaign in Sydney.
Lauren McMah of Sydney's MX recently described Vander as an "artist (that) merges rock guitars, electronic synthesisers and catchy melodies to deliver a stadium-sized sound, drawing inspiration from bands including U2, Simple Minds and Australia's Icehouse." Radio host, Ben Regattieri of Sydney's 2GLF described Vander's music, "Vander have better riffs than U2. Those riffs are just beautiful."
