For a performer who spends around 300 days per year travelling from city to city, it seems only fitting that his new single and accompanying video reflect the touring lifestyle he has grown accustomed to. A critically acclaimed purveyor of high-energy blues and soul, Shaun Kirk is gearing up for a national tour to support the second single, Two Hands on the Wheel from his latest record Steer the Wheel.

Two Hands on the Wheel is a road tripping country blues number, featuring contributions from Kyle and Dan Lizotte from Halfway to Forth. The song was recently featured on SBS' coverage of the Tour de France and was performed live on the Good Morning Show during Shaun's recent tour of New Zealand. To create the new video for Two Hands on the Wheel, Shaun will be filming snippets of life whilst on tour, including up close and personal concert performances, sound checks, spontaneous musical collaborations, and highway drives, along with behind-the-scenes, fly-on-the-wall footage.

Debuting at No. 1 on the Australian iTunes Blues Charts, Steer the Wheel was pegged as his most electrified album to date, seeing Kirk explore beyond the blues influences that have characterised his previous work. Sam Fell from Rhythms Magazine said, "Steer The Wheel best showcases his versatility as a blues/soul player. From the crooning of 'Stitches' to the organ-driven, raw vocal stomp of live favourite 'Find Me a Lady' (with a fine cover of Tony Joe White's 'As the Crow Flies' in there, too), Kirk has it covered." The first single Stitches met with much praise around the country, including airplay on ABC Radio National's 'The Inside Sleeve' and a nod from Triple J's Maggie Collins who described it as a "smooth, cool song".

The album came together through a collaborative effort, from the fans that pitched in towards the crowdfunding campaign, to the guest musicians who contributed to the recordings. This process allowed Shaun to donate a portion of profits from CD sales to Orphfund, a charity helping abandoned children around the globe. Steer the Wheel is out now on iTunes.
