David  Bridie's  latest  LP  'Take  the  Next Illusionary Exit' is a collection of oddities and curio's, previously unreleased or marginally released tracks, demos, covers and soundtrack excerpts.

Originally produced for supporters of Bridie's Pozible crowd funding campaign in support of his 2013 release 'Wake', 'Take the Next Illusionary Exit' has proven so popular that it has been given a general release.

"There is a freedom in bringing forth an album like this. It's a very different process to a traditional "new release". There was less raking over the coals labouring over the perfect mix, the best order and more scope to relax a little into the process." says David.

The CD is made up of four distinct elements; the new songs - including 'Forbidden Song (Arnold Ap)' about West Papuan martyr and musician Arnold Ap who was assassinated by the Indonesian military in 1984 and 'Every Night I Hear You Talking' featuring Not Drowning Waving's John Phillips.

There are soundtrack specials such as 'Crisco' from John Ruane's adaption of Tim Winton's novel That Eye the Sky; 'Call Me Mum' from the 2006 film soundtrack of the same name and 'The Land is Taken' from Catriona MacKenzies' Satellite Boy starring David Gulpilli (2013).

The third element of the Exit CD includes some re-working of old tracks - a higher energy version of 'Kerosene' (Act of Free Choice 2000) and an early demo version of the My Friend The Chocolate Cake track 'Mangrove' (1998).

Sitting amongst these are three covers, a striking version of 'Morning Star' by Nat King Cole - Bridie's ode to the West Papuan flag the Morning Star; a blips and bloops version of Billy Oceans disco classic "Love Really Hurts Without You" recorded with Monique Brumby, Kerri Simpson and Rebecca Barnard for the Jesuit Social Services fundraiser CD "Just Music" (2012); and lastly a cracking version of UK Punk Rock Band The Only Ones "Another Girl Another Planet".
