After signing with Future Classic earlier this year, everyone's favourite local beatsmith Basenji, aka Sebastian Muecke, finally delivers his highly anticipated first release on the label: "Heirloom" - out now as a free download via Future Classic's Soundcloud page. The Sydney-based producer will also be taking his eclectic blend of sweltering percussion and colourful melodies on the road as he announces a nationwide tour for October this year.

The long-awaited single has been a hot topic on Soundcloud ever since fellow Sydneysider Wave Racer - Basenji's high school friend and former production buddy - dropped the "Heirloom" demo in his mix for the BBC Radio 1 "Diplo and Friends" mix series.

Taking note from the Cashmere-sound, yet formulating and flipping it into an original that embodies every bit of the Basenji spirit, this high-energy track is packed with effervescent, instantly hooking, severely addictive melodies - invoking many happy feelings and undoubtedly infiltrating airwaves near you before long. The single precedes the much-rumoured EP, which is expected to drop via the prolific Sydney imprint.

It has been a non-stop whirlwind journey for Muecke since releasing his first two tracks "Speak With A Dofflin" and "Tribute To The Cat" less than a year ago. However it was his release "Dawn" that sky rocketed his production credentials into the higher international EDM realms, garnering instant local love and worldwide acclaim - in turn inflicting whiplash on the many head-turning music aficionados.

The infatuation for the man behind the dog breed name was demonstrated by his massive Unearthed support, the 600K Soundcloud streams for "Dawn", followed by a hard-hitting "Foolin'" remix for Perth's own Sable - racking up another 227K plays. Muecke's success sent him across the country, covering Perth's bespoke music festival CIRCO, securing a coveted spot on the Splendour In The Grass line up, as well as making an appearance on Australia's first ever official Boiler Room tour last March and closing for the Future Classic showcase at Sydney's Vivid Festival in May this year.

Not one to sit still, the hardworking 21-year-old now also announces a national tour kicking off in October, celebrating his latest "Heirloom" release and forthcoming debut EP. The tour will see Muecke bring the Dofflin vibes to all corners of the country.
